Town and Country, MO – The former President of Maryville University will not be charged with rape. St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch says there's no evidence of criminal misconduct by John Neal.
Neal, 46, recently resigned less than a year into the job after a 23-year old woman claimed he raped her on New Year's Eve. The Post-Dispatch reports the accuser is from Hong Kong and is a student at Ottawa University in Kansas. Neal was president at Ottawa University before coming to Maryville in July.
Jefferson City, MO – The Missouri State Senate on Wednesday passed a nearly $21 billion state budget with little of the controversy that recent budget debates have included.
The budget is for the fiscal year that starts in July; debate was in stark contrast to heated debates in recent years when budgets were being cuts. This year's budget would increase state spending by 8-9%.
