American Airlines announced massive cuts in flights and staff Wednesday.
St. Louis is now the carrier's third-largest hub, but by November there will be 210 fewer departures from Lambert Airport.
Still, business and civic leaders say the situation is not nearly as bad as it could have been. KWMU's Matt Sepic prepared this report.
