38 St. Louis-area post offices on list for possible closure

By KWMU

St. Louis – The U.S. Postal Service is reviewing more than three dozen St. Louis area post offices for possible closure or consolidation. It's part of a nationwide effort to reduce costs.

The Postal Regulatory Commission has listed 38 area post offices that could be closed.

Those include post offices in Clayton, West St. Louis County, and north St. Louis.

The postal service is also considering consolidating some of its processing centers, cutting office hours, and ending Saturday delivery.

Last year the U.S. Postal Service lost nearly $3 billion, and could lose twice as much this year.
