Abortion Bill Veto Knocked Out by Legislature

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – The Missouri Senate has voted 25-to-8 to
over-ride Governor Holden's veto of a bill to place new restrictions on women seeking abortions.

The House took the same action yesterday. So now the bill will become law in 30 days without Holden's signature.

It requires women to wait 24 hours after consulting a doctor before having an abortion.

During the consultation, the doctor would have to inform women of any physical, psychological or situational risk factors
associated with the abortion.
