Mascoutah, ILL – Court documents show that bankrupt Great Plains Airlines owes MidAmerica Airport nearly 200-thousand dollars in unpaid bills.

Despite the debt, the head of MidAmerica Airport says he's looking forward to working with Great Plains once it emerges from bankruptcy.

Tim Cantwell is director of the airport near St. Louis, and says he still thinks Great Plains is a good match for the Illinois airfield.

Great Plains suspended all flights when it filed for bankruptcy on January 23 -- about three months after it began offering nonstop flights between MidAmerica and Chicago, Washington, Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

Bankruptcy court documents show that the Oklahoma-based airline owes its largest creditors a total of more than $3.5 million.
