Boonville, MO – Anheuser-Busch says it has purchased a 340-acre farm near Boonville that it will use to increase its Clydesdale breeding herd.

Company official Jim Poole says there are no immediate construction plans, but the site is well-suited for the horses.

Anheuser-Busch breeds and houses the Clydesdales at numerous locations worldwide. The most famous site is Grant's Farm, the 281-acre ancestral home of the Busch family located in south St. Louis County.

Only Clydesdales with standard size and markings, including white hoofs and a white nose, are chosen to represent Budweiser.
