Anheuser-Busch InBev sells four can plants to Ball Corp.

By AP/KWMU

BRUSSELS, Belgium – Anheuser-Busch InBev is selling four of its can plants to a company famous for making glass jars.

The company said Wednesday it will sell four packaging facilities to the Ball Corporation for $577 million.

The brewer has been selling off some of its businesses to repay the massive debt InBev took on last year to pay for the $52 billion takeover of Anheuser-Busch.

Anheuser-Busch InBev said the plants being sold make soft drink cans, and the sale will allow the remaining packaging plants to focus on beer cans.

The plants being sold are in Wisconsin, Ohio, Georgia, and Florida. They will continue to supply Anheuser-Busch InBev with cans.
