Animal Advocates Hope to Improve City Pound

St. Louis –

St. Louis' animal control center made headlines as far away as Sydney, Australia two weeks ago when a 30-pound basenji dog, now known as Quentin, survived the facility's gas chamber.

Quentin is now a cause celebre for animal rights advocates, who hope to replace the city's aging pound and make carbon monoxide euthanasia a rarity. KWMU's Matt Sepic reports.
