St. Louis, MO – Another well-known politican has launched a campaign to replace Dick Gephardt in Missouri's Third Congressional District.

Former State Rep. Joan Barry announced her candidacy Sunday in St. Louis. She served four terms in the Missouri House before she was forced out of office because of term limits last year.

Barry says her legislative experience should make her a strong candidates.

Several other Democrats have also indicated they will seek the party's nomination. They include: State Rep. Russ Carnahan, State Sen. Steve Stoll, and St. Louis Circuit Clerk Mariano Favazza. No Republicans have yet entered the race.

Gephardt said he would not seek reelection to the seat he's held in the U.S. House for more than a decade. He's instead running for President.
