Behind the Headlines – Bayer buys Monsanto and another take on the 78th House District

In our weekly "Behind the Headlines" segment, St. Louis on the Air host Don Marsh discussed one of the biggest economic stories of the week: Bayer’s deal with Monsanto to acquire the company for $66 billion.

Also, there’s been much attention paid to the two Democrats vying to the be the state representative in Missouri’s 78th House District, challenger Bruce Franks and incumbent state Rep. Penny Hubbard. A judge ruled that a re-do election, happening Friday, is required due to allegations of problems with absentee ballots. But, what about the Republican in the race? We talked with the candidate, Erik Shelquist.
