Big screen viewing, black-tie ball part of inaugural festivities in St. Louis

By Matt Sepic, KWMU

St. Louis – St. Louis city leaders will celebrate the swearing-in of Barack Obama this evening with a black-tie dinner in the City Hall rotunda, just one of many inaugural events in the area today.

The St. Louis Science Center will show TV coverage of the ceremonies on its giant Omnimax screen from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tickets are free, and will be given on a first-come first-served basis.

The International Institute is holding a watch party for immigrants and refugees, and St. Louis city Democrats are throwing an evening inaugural bash at the Pageant Theater.
