Bill Bans Lawsuits Against Gun Makers

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – The Missouri Senate gave initial approval
today to a bill barring governments from suing gun manufacturers.

The sponsor is Senate President Pro Tem Peter Kinder. He says his bill is designed to avert lawsuits similar to one brought by
St. Louis against gun makers.

The measure is aimed at lawsuits like the one filed more than three years ago by St. Louis to recover millions of dollars spent on dealing with gun violence.

It needs a final Senate approval before moving to the House.
