St. Louis, MO – A chocolate war is heating up in St. Louis.
Candy maker Bissinger's is suing Clayton-based rival Lake Forest Confections. Bissinger says Lake Forest is using Bissinger's trade secrets to make what it calls "imposter chocolate."
The lawsuit also names three former Bissinger workers who now work with Lake Forest.
Lake Forest's owner calls the lawsuit's claims unfounded but deferred additional comment, saying he planned to chat with his attorneys today (Wednesday).
Bissinger's seeks unspecified damages, including lost profits, and a judge's order that Lake Forest halt the questioned practices.
