Blagojevich Will Whistle Stop His Way Into Office

Chicago, IL – Illinois Governor-elect Rod Blagojevich plans to ride a whistle-stop train tour into office this month.

Blagojevich said Wednesday he's reviving a Democratic tradition of covering the 200 miles between Chicago and Springfield aboard a railroad car. He says the idea is to emphasis the themes of openness, accessibility and new approaches.

The train will leave Chicago's Union Station at 9:45 a.m. January Eleventh, with stops that day in Joliet, Dwight and Bloomington before reaching the capital.
