St. Louis, MO – Every year the holidays result in declining blood donations and this year is no exception. But The American Red Cross in the Missouri-Illinois blood services region reports that last week's winter storm plus the holidays have added up to a very serious blood shortage. Director of Recruitment Michelle Langley says O-negative and B-negative blood are particularly low.
The Red Cross reports O-negative blood currently stands at less than a half-day supply.
