St. Louis, MO – The Blues Tuesday night traded four-time All-Star and team captain Chris Pronger to Edmonton for three players, including defenseman Eric Brewer.

Pronger, 30, is a former NHL Most Valuable Player who won the Hart and Norris trophies for the 1999-2000 season. He has scored 94 goals and recorded 400 points in 722 career games.

The Blues will also get defensemen Doug Lynch and Jeff Woywitka.

Blues' General Manager Larry Pleau says Brewer, 26, was the key to the deal for the Blues. Brewer has 34 goals and 79 assists in six seasons.

The Blues first got Pronger in 1995 in a trade with Hartford for Brendan Shanahan.
