St. Louis, MO – Republican Congressman Roy Blunt says his presumptive opponent in next year's senate race, Democratic Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, is hedging on the issues.

Blunt was in St. Louis on Thursday for a roundtable discussion on "cap and trade" legislation.

Blunt accused Carnahan dodging his requests for a debate on healthcare as well as keeping her positions on key issues secret from the public.

"I'm gonna be out there talking about these issues as I have been," said Blunt.

"I'm gonna run the risk when I do that of being quoted out of context here and there. But, Robin Carnahan's not going to be quoted out of context because there is no context."

A spokesman for the Carnahan campaign says Blunt has yet to pass through his party's primary.

If he does in fact become the Republican nominee she looks forward to debating him at that point.
