Washington, DC – Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt is expected back at work soon; he had surgery Monday to remove a cancerous prostate.
Blunt's doctor says the prostate cancer is not related to a tumor that caused the Springfield Republican's left kidney to be removed last year.
The 53-year-old Republican was operated on at the National Naval Medical Center near Washington.
His spokeswoman, Burson Taylor, says Blunt is in good spirits and expects to visit his home area in southwest Missouri next
month.
