Jefferson City, MO – Missouri's Secretary of State Matt Blunt released a plan Monday he hopes will bring $76 million in federal funding to improve the elections process.

The plan helps the state comply with a new federal law called the Help America Vote Act. It requires states to show they have plans for using the federal money.

Missouri's plan would set up a system by which local election officials can either get grants or loans to update voting equipment. The state also says it will distribute voter education material to better inform the public.

Blunt's office is seeking comment on the plan. To view the full report, click here.
