Boeing Executives Move Up
Boeing announced the promotion of several executives Wednesday, including within Defense, Space and Security in St. Louis.
Dennis Muilenburg, who now heads up the $33 billion Defense division, has been named vice chairman, president and chief operating officer.
In a statement Boeing officials said Muilenburg will move to corporate headquarters in Chicago, where he’ll share oversight of the day-to-day business operations with President and CEO Jim McNerney.
Muilenburg has been with Boeing for 28 years and has headed up the Defense, Space and Security business since September 2009.
Christopher Chadwick, who now leads the Military Aircraft division in St. Louis, will now take over Defense.
Shelley Lavendar will replace Chadwick. She currently serves as vice president and general manager of Integrated Logistics for the Global Services & Support business within the Defense unit.
Boeing currently is seeking a site for production of its commercial aircraft 777X. Missouri is among 15 states competing for the assembly plant. The state and St. Louis County have offered up to $3.5 billion in tax incentives.
