Bond and Talent Want to Meet with American

By B. Raack, KWMU

Washington, D.C. – Missouri Senators Kit Bond and Jim Talent - upset with the way former TWA employees have been treated - want to meet with the new head of American Airlines.

The two Republicans say they want to talk with CEO Gerard Arpey about how to fairly integrate the TWA workers who are now employed by American. They also want to stress the importance of American Airlines to Missouri's economy.

About 1,800 flight attendants and several hundred pilots based in St. Louis are expected to lose their jobs under new deals the airline has struck with its unions.
