Branson, MO – Branson city officials have again said no to a proposed outdoor concert by hip-hop artist Nelly. The city's aldermen voted unanimously Tuesday not to allow the Aug. 21 concert behind the renovated Grand Palace.
Concert organizer Paul Dunn announced on July 4 that Nelly would perform as part of the Grand Palace reopening. But the city denied a special event permit on July 9, citing concerns about parking, crowd control and noise.
On Tuesday, aldermen said they were still not satisfied that those concerns had been addressed.
An attorney for Grand Palace officials said the dispute will now go to Taney County Circuit Court.
