St. Louis, MO – The Bricklayers strike against the Mason Contractors Association is over, just one week after it began. The two sides agreed on a new five-year contract Wednesday evening after two days of talks.
Union officials say the new contract includes a wage increase each year of the agreement as well as modifications sought by the contractors. Bricklayers Local 1 also represents tuckpointers, caulkers, and cleaners.
The union's negotiating committee was able to authorize the contract agreement without a direct vote of the membership.
