Chicago – Roland Burris started a wiretapped phone conversation by telling ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's brother that he was calling the senator to make him "king of the world."

That's according to FBI wiretap transcripts released Tuesday by a federal judge for review by the U.S. Senate Ethics Committee investigating how Burris was appointed to his Senate seat.

During the conversation, Burris promises to "do something" for Blagojevich's campaign fund while pressing the then-governor's brother Robert Blagojevich for appointment to the Senate.

Earlier in the conversation, Burris and Robert Blagojevich explored the possibility that Burris might do raise campaign money on a larger scale.

Burris repeatedly says he wants to help but says major fundraising activities would have negative connotations.

Burris said the transcript will prove there was no pay-to-play for his appointment.
