Springfield, MO – President Bush will return to the campaign trail with a stop in Springfield, Mo. this (Friday) morning.

He's been keeping a lower profile this week while Democrats held their convention in Boston.

The President is expected to talk about the war in Iraq and touch on other topics including federal student loans.

The President flew back to the White House Thursday night.

Bush's travels Friday and Saturday take him to four of Campaign 2004's most fiercely contested battlegrounds. Though polls give him a narrow lead in Missouri, recent surveys in Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania are mostly within the margin of error.

Bush is also unveiling a new stump speech, predicting better times ahead and promising a second term of fresh ideas.

According to excerpts obtained by the Associated Press, the president will declare, "We have turned the corner, and we are not turning back."
