Ferguson, Mo. – Charges are expected Thursday in St. Louis County against a man accused of killing a man, taking his car, and leading police on a chase.
Police say the carjacker shot 23-year old Delvin Hester in a parking lot in Ferguson, then took off with Hester's 4-year old daughter inside the car. Police chased the suspect into Illinois, where they shot him in the leg as he tried to run from the car.
The man got caught in traffic by the merger of Interstates 55-70 and Interstate 64.
Police said the 4-year-old girl and a woman in another car also were taken to a hospital with slight injuries from a collision.
Family members say Hester had bought eyeglasses for his daughter and was returning to his car when he was carjacked.
