St. Louis, MO – East St. Louis Mayor Carl Officer says he'll sue today (Friday) to keep the city election board from certifying the results of one race in last week's primary election.
Officer lost a race precinct committeeman by one vote to Jeffery Howard.
But Officer claims his political opponents corrupted the vote as a way to keep him from becoming the chairman of the East St. Louis Democratic Party.
The mayor also wants federal authorities to investigate the election.
