Chicago, Ill. – Illinois State Senator Kirk Dillard says he'll decide this week whether to run for U.S. Senate.

The state G-O-P is looking for someone to replace Jack Ryan on the ticket. Ryan dropped out of the race a few weeks ago.

Wealthy dairy owner Jim Oberweis also says he's interested in running against Democrat Barack Obama. Oberweis finished second to Ryan in the March Republican primary.

Dillard is from the Chicago suburbs. He's been in the General Assembly since 1993 and co-chairs the state Senate Judiciary Committee.
