St. Louis, MO. – The city of St. Louis has opened warming centers to give people a place to get out of the cold.
That's as the national Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area.
Snow is in the forecast beginning tomorrow afternoon and continuing into Thursday morning.
City Commissioner of Health Melba Moore says residents should pay attention.
"If you don't have to go out in this weather, don't," Moore said. "Stay in, check on your family members, especially the elderly. Keep your pets indoors, only to take them out to do what they need to do and then get them back in. Do not leave those pets outside."
Moore also reminded city residents to cover all exposed skin to prevent frostbite.
