Columbia, MO – University of Missouri basketball player Ricky Clemons left a Columbia hospital yesterday and reported to jail. He was recovering from broken ribs and a punctured lung sustained in an ATV accident on Independence Day. That accident at the home of the university's president alerted officials that Clemons had violated terms of his work-release program.
Clemons had been serving a 60-day sentence for a conviction arising from a domestic assault case.
Boone County Circuit Judge Gene Hamilton last week canceled a work-release program for Clemons. That's after speaking to representatives of the halfway house where the athlete failed to report as scheduled on the Fourth of July.
