Columbia, MO – University of Missouri basketball star Ricky Clemons will serve the remainder of his 60-day suspension in jail following an incident at the residence of MU president Elson Floyd over the weekend.

Clemons was injured while riding an ATV at Floyd's home Friday night. Clemons had been sentenced to a work-release program following a conviction of false imprisonment, and had not been authorized to attend the gathering at Floyd' home. For his part, Floyd says he was unaware that Clemons was not supposed to be out Friday night.

"My wife and I were under the impression as per our conversation with Ricky that he had to be back by 10:30, and in fact we were poised to make sure that he was back by 10:30. We obviously had no reason to question his veracity in that regard," Floyd said.

Clemons is in fair condition at the University of Missouri Hospital. Boone County Circuit Judge Gene Hamilton says Clemons must report to jail no later than two hours after he's released from the hospital.
