Damaged cable causes MetroLink delays

(via Flickr/binkle_28)

Updated 2:20 p.m.

Metro tweeted from their official account at 2:11 p.m. that "Fiber optic cable has been restored and MetroLink and trains resuming normal service."

Original Story:

Commuters who use MetroLink, listen up: a damaged fiber optic cable will add to your travel time today.

Metro, the mass transit agency, says the damaged cable is affecting communications with the trains throughout the system. The trains are moving, but they're running about 30 minutes behind schedule.

The Blue Line is also only running between the Shrewsbury/I-44 and Forest Park-DeBaliviere stations. Anyone who wants to travel east of Forest Park-DeBaliviere must switch to a Red Line train at that station.
