St. Louis, Mo. – A recent raid on a St. Louis day care center has exposed a loophole in Missouri's childcare laws.
When officers went to shut down the World Christian Academy earlier this month because of building code violations, they also found a convicted sex offender working there.
Currently, more than 800-day care centers in the state are exempt from requirements like licenses criminal background checks. That's because the exemption applies to centers that show they're operated by a school.
