St. Louis – The city of St. Louis will open a new public garden downtown between 8th and 10th streets tomorrow afternoon.
The nearly three-acre Citygarden will have a 16-foot-long video wall, a waterfall and native Missouri plants.
Architect Warren Byrd said the garden also will have more than 20 sculptures.
"And one of our intentions was literally to create a diversity of spaces and places because we felt not only would that accommodate this range of sculpture, it would accommodate a great range of people," Byrd said.
City officials said they hope the garden will tie together the north and southern parts of downtown.
The St. Louis-based Gateway Foundation funded the nearly $30 million project.
