St. Louis, MO – The economic impact of each Cardinal home playoff game could exceed $2 million. That's according to the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association, which studied the direct and indirect spending associated with the baseball team. RCGA chief economist Bryan Bezold says the major sources of spending are for tickets, concessions and merchandise, as well as off-site expenditures like dining, lodging and transportation.
The R-C-G-A says the exposure that the region will receive on national television during the playoffs could also pay off as companies and investors across the country consider locating in the St. Louis area.
