EPA to MO-DNR: Reconsider Your Surrender

St. Louis, MO – The federal government is urging Missouri to reconsider its decision to give up its own veto power over some federal water projects.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources eliminated its water certification program, which can reject federal projects involving wetlands, rivers and streams, to save $99,000.

But the Environmental Protection Agency now wants the state to consider options other than giving that power back to the federal government.
