Federal Stimulus Money Goes to Home Weatherization in Missouri

By AP/St. Louis Public Radio

St. Louis – Stimulus funds are being used to weatherize the homes of about 21,000 low income Missourians.

The state has received $128 million in federal stimulus money to make homes more energy efficient. Eligibility was recently expanded so people who earn less than twice the federal poverty level may apply.

That means a family of four that makes less than $44,100 a year is eligible.

The funds go to 16 consumer advocacy agencies around the state that weatherize the homes of low-income residents.
