Former Pride St. Louis President Convicted in Sex Case
St. Louis, MO – The former head of a gay and lesbian advocacy group in St. Louis was convicted Wednesdayday of improper sexual relations with a teenager.
A jury recommended 20 years in prison for Rolf Rathmann, who testified that he thought the boy he was with was at least 17. The boy was actually 14. Rathmann resigned last year as president of Pride St. Louis.
The jury deliberated three hours before convicting Rolf Rathmann Wednesday of eight counts of second-degree statutory sodomy.
A judge can take the recommendation, give Rathmann a lesser sentence, or sentence him to probation. The questioned encounters took place last year at a park in Ellisville, a St. Louis suburb.
