By AP/St. Louis Public Radio

St. Louis – A former St. Louis police officer has been sentenced to three months in prison and ordered to pay back $8,000 for stealing and splitting drug-linked money with other officers.

Leo Liston. 35, of St. Louis pleaded guilty in May to misapplying money seized in a June 2008 drug raid and writing a false report to cover his crime. Liston resigned from the force in April.

The U.S. Attorney's office in St. Louis announced his sentencing Thursday. Two other detectives, Vincent Carr, and Bobby Lee Garrett, also pleaded guilty in the scam. They are scheduled for sentencing later this year.
