St. Louis, MO. – The Archdiocese of St. Louis announced Friday that four suspended priests have been laicized, meaning they no longer can serve as priests.
James Funke, James Gummersbach, Bryan Kuchar, and Michael Seidel all have faced allegations of sexual abuse.
The decision to laicize the four was made in Rome.
A statement from the Archdiocese said Archbishop Raymond Burke expressed his deepest regret for all who may have been harmed by the four priests.
He urged anyone abused a clergy member to contact the Archdiocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection or the police.
