Freeman Autopsy Indicates Weak Heart

By KWMU

St. Louis – Autopsy results show St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist and KWMU host Greg Freeman died from cardiomyopathy, a chronic weakening of the heart muscle.

Medical examiners reported the autopsy results Wednesday, according to the Post-Dispatch. They say the condition was brought on by high blood pressure.

Freeman was a full-time columnist at the Post since 1992 and host of KWMU's "St. Louis on the Air" for about three years.

He died unexpectedly December 31 at the age of 46. Freeman also suffered from muscular dystrophy and prostate cancer.
