Sacramento, CA – Presidential hopeful Dick Gephardt, of St. Louis, is standing by his long-time aide and campaign vice-chair, Joyce Aboussie.
Two large employees unions that have endorsed Howard Dean's run for President want Aboussie to resign. They say she threatened to help repeal a collective bargaining law for Missouri state employees if union members helped Dean in Iowa. On Thursday, Gephardt said the fuss is just politics and calls her apology the end of the matter.
The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) are the unions in question.
