'GOOD Ideas for Cities' challenges and participants chosen for St. Louis

This article first appeared in the St. Louis Beacon, Feb. 2, 2012 - "GOOD" magazine has selected seven groups of St. Louisans to focus on local challenges, who will reveal the results of their brainstorming in a free March 8 event at the Contemporary Art Museum.

The challenges include

  • boosting MetroLink ridership
  • increasing city schools' graduation rates
  • growing more local food
  • preserving parks.

Each challenge will be addressed by two or more area leaders and a creative team.
The lineup of leaders includes well-known St. Louisans such as Vince Schoemehl and Mayor Slay's chief of staff Jeff Rainford, among others. Teams boasts a variety of names including Arch City Revival, STL Provocateur and ACTivate the City.
