University City, MO – The Green Party wants the USA Patriot Act repealed, and they're taking their case to a local St. Louis County government.
The St. Louis chapter wants the University City Council to pass a resolution condemning the act.
The Greens' Don Fitz says although the Act is federal law, local governments have a say in it.
A University City official says the council will consider a public hearing on the issue at tonight's meeting.
Congress passed the USA Patriot Act shortly after the September 11 attacks. It broadens federal law enforcement powers, but is facing many court challenges.
