The Saint Louis Zoo’s new groundhog “Pippi,” a 10-month old female, is hibernating, and her keepers let her sleep through the holiday. There were no Groundhog Day activities at the Zoo.
Lily, the Zoo's previous groundhog, died of old age in the past year. She was 10 years old.
