By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – Missouri Governor Bob Holden has nominated two curators for the University of Missouri.

St. Louis attorney Cheryl Walker and publisher Don Walsworth, of Marceline, in north-central Missouri, both must gain approval from the State Senate before taking their new jobs.

Walker is a former President of the St. Louis City Mental Health Board of Trustees and currently works at the firm Bryan Cave LLP in St. Louis. She's a University of Missouri-Rolla alumnus.

Walsworth has served as Mayor of Marceline, a small community about 90 miles northwest of Columbia; he is a UM-Columbia alum.

The two will replace curators whose terms have expired. Walker will replace Beverly "Malaika" Horne; Walsworth takes the seat of Paul Steele.
