St. Louis – The Rams are getting a new owner who plans to keep the football team in St. Louis.
Sources at the NFL tell the St. Louis Post Dispatch that Illinois businessman Shahid Khan has signed an agreement with owners Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez.
Khan will buy the 60 percent of the team the two inherited when their mother Georgia Frontiere died two years ago. The sale still needs the approval of the NFL.
Shahid Khan lives in Urbana, Ill., where he owns an auto parts manufacturer. He lived in St. Louis as a child after his parents immigrated from Pakistan.
Rosenbloom and Rodriguez received other offers for the Rams, including one from a group led by Blues Chairman Dave Checketts.
