Illinois Will Spend Winter Studying West Nile

By Tom Weber, KWMU

St. Louis, MO –

This year Illinois recorded more than 750 cases and 52 deaths in humans, more than any state in the nation.

KWMU's Tom Weber spoke with Illinois' Public Health Director John Lumpkin, who says the state will get ready for next summer by looking back on the lessons learned this year.
