St. Louis, MO – The University of Missouri names Donald Driemeier to serve as interim chancellor of the St. Louis campus. The 64-year-old Driemeier will succeed Chancellor Blanche Touhill. She will retire at the end of the year. Driemeier will assume his new post on January 1.

Driemeier joined the university in 1965 as an instructor of finance. He was appointed dean of the School of Business Administration in 1976. From 1990 to 1992, he served as interimvice chancellor of academic affairs. At that time, he was appointed deputy to the chancellor. Driemeier is a graduate of DePauw University where he received a bachelor's degree in economics. He holds both a master's and doctorate degree in business administration from Washington University.

The search for a permanent chancellor will begin next month.
