Judge Makes UM Appeal Easier

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, Mo. – A ruling yesterday by a St. Louis judge will allow the University of Missouri to more quickly appeal a decision involving illegal tuition.

A recent ruling says MU illegally charged up to $500 million in tuition since the 1930s because of an old state law that guarantees free tuition for all Missouri youth.

Yesterday, a judge says the appeal does not have to include a calculation of the exact amount of tuition the school might owe to students in refunds. Lawyers for the university said that paperwork might have taken years to compile.
